We are vehemently against data collection. We will do everything in our power to ensure that your privacy is maintained.
This is the same policy across everything we ship. Our website. Our products. Our games. One document. One stance.
Scope
This policy covers illi.gg ("we," "us," "our") and everything we develop and publish: the illi.gg website, our products, and our games. Unless a specific product publishes its own additional notice for a feature unique to that product, this single policy applies.
What we collect, and what we don't
Our default is to collect nothing beyond what is strictly required to make a product work. Specifically:
- No tracking pixels. No third-party analytics that profile you across the web.
- No advertising IDs. We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your information with advertisers.
- No data partnerships. We do not bundle your data with anyone else's. Not ever.
- No silent profiling. We do not build behavioral profiles, social graphs, or shadow accounts.
What we may collect, only where genuinely needed:
- Direct communications. If you email us, fill out our contact form, or apply for access to a private product, we keep your name, email, and message contents so we can respond. That is it.
- Account essentials (where a product needs accounts). The minimum required to operate the account. Usually an email and a hashed password. Never anything we do not need.
- Game saves and progress. If a game saves your progress, we store only what is needed to restore that progress on your devices. Not what you said in chat. Not who you played with. Not your inputs.
- Crash and error reports. If a product crashes, we may receive a technical report (stack trace, OS version, GPU model). We strip personal identifiers and use it only to fix bugs.
- Aggregate, non-identifying usage signals (for example: "200 players cleared level 5 today"). Never tied back to you personally.
How we use it
- To respond to you when you reach out.
- To run, secure, and improve our products and games.
- To send product updates only if you explicitly opted in.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not let anyone else turn you into a product.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses a minimal set of first-party cookies only when strictly required for functionality (for example, remembering a preference you set). We do not run third-party analytics. If we ever add privacy-respecting analytics (self-hosted, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting), we will update this section before turning them on.
In-game data
Our games inherit this policy. We do not analyze your playstyle to manipulate you. We do not sell behavioral data about how you play. Multiplayer features (chat, matchmaking) will be disclosed in the relevant product's in-product notice and follow the same minimum-collection principle.
Children
Our public-facing website is not directed at children under 13. Individual games may have their own age ratings. We follow applicable child-privacy laws (COPPA, GDPR-K, and similar) wherever we operate.
Your rights
You can ask us what we have on you, ask us to delete it, or ask us to correct it. Email info@illi.gg and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under the GDPR, the CCPA, the UK DPA, or similar local laws. All of those apply, and we honor them.
Data retention
We keep correspondence and account data only as long as the relationship is active, plus a short archival period. We delete sooner if you ask us to and we have no overriding legal obligation to keep it. Game progress is retained until you ask us to delete it.
Security
We use standard industry safeguards (TLS in transit, encryption at rest where appropriate, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect what we hold. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We will post any material changes here with an updated date. We will not silently expand collection. If we ever begin collecting a new category of data, we will say so loudly, before we collect it.
